Neutered New World
by Labate inif, as jesus said, there is no marriage in the afterlife, will our sex drive be removed?.
sex without marriage is fornication, which is a no-no.. if i were young and healthy, being surrounded by young, healthy women, having the normal male libido would hardly be paradise..

we have a laid off bethelite with an engineering degree!
by nowwhat? inthis guy have been at bethel for 25 years when he could have been making 75-100 thousand a year as an engineer.
so they kick him to the curb so they don't have to house him and his wife anymore.
they run into a problem at warwick and they ask him to come back for 3 weeks.

In the WT study article that came out after the bethel layoffs, it blurred the line between WT and Jehovah by quoting "humble" former bethelites saying, "once I realized the direction was coming from Jehovah...". How can this mere engineer stand his ground and say "no" to Jehovah?

Are you a Christian Who Accepts Evolution?
by cofty inif you identify as a christian but you have accepted that the diversity of life - including humans - resulted from a process of biological evolution could you add your name please?.
just to be clear i am referring to the fact that our physical lineage could literally be traced back all the way to non-human species.. if you like maybe you could comment on why you see not conflict between evolution and your christian faith.. there is a tendency to conflate evolution with atheism.
it would be good to show that this is not the case..

@oppostate Here's the problem for Christians: once you accept that life evolved, you dismiss Adam and Eve from being our "parents". Hence with no Original Sin committed, you therefore have to postulate that Jesus came to earth to die for... what? Mythical people? The whole house of cards collapses on top of a deity who sacrificed his life to compensate for a sin that never happened 6,000 years ago.

Stonewalling and the Governing Body
by UnshackleTheChains inwhy do the gb stonewall individuals with legitimate questions.
for example, they refuse to speak to investagative journalists like trey bundy, unless they happen to get caught somewhere walking about in the street by chance.. i remember the panorama documentary 'suffer the little children' where the presenter tried to arrange an interview with one of the gb.
i can't remember if the gb either refused or simply didn't reply.

@stuckinarut2: "Jesus supposedly said 'you are the light of the world...do not hide your light under a basket...but let it shine...etc'. So why do 'Christ's brothers' act so defensively and secretively?"
Because they're "basket" cases. That's why.

The ironic thing is, they're sitting next to a sign that prohibits littering. All I see is a big pile of garbage set up for display.

Can the GB be directed by Holy Spirit and at the same time be not inspired ?
by Chook inyes god directs our writings but they're not inspired, so gods directions are staggered and overlapping , so the genuine innocent believing jw has a wonderful life of overlapping bullshit.
so next time you meet a jw priest ask them what is the difference between being directed and inspired, then i promise you will hear first hand an example of overlapping bull..
-
Wake Me Up Before You Jo-Ho
Yes. "Guided" by Holy Spirit. "Directed" by it. Yet "not inspired" by it. That's like saying this computer I'm typing on is running on electricity, even though it's NOT PLUGGED IN and never has been. All I'd be left with is a dead computer collecting dust. To suggest that there's a spark of electricity running through it (ie, "Holy Spirit directed") would be blatant lunacy. The blank screen (WT's empty prophecies) speaks volumes for itself.

I'm not sure. Infer? Lloyd Evans also uses the term "superimposes" in reference to the subjective and biased spin that the GB puts on scriptures. I don't know, otherwise.
Paging @jwfacts....

Why do ones that got out come back in?
by moreconfusedthanever ini have not been to a meeting for about 2 years now.
i do not intend to go back but one thing has me baffled.
why do ones that have faded and been out for years return?
-
Wake Me Up Before You Jo-Ho
@stuckinarut2 It's their way of redeeming themselves before Jehovah (WT) and using their "outing" of an apostate as a means to make up for inactivity.
